Relonch Service

  • What is Camera-as-a-Service?

What do I need to do to take good photos?

Below, you’ll find an illustration of the typical Chain of Pain that anybody who has taken an interest in photography has undoubtedly experienced.

Our Camera-as-a-Service gets rid of the whole Chain of Pain thanks to its simplicity (only one button!), all with no tradeoff in quality.

All you have to do is press the button on your device and your photos will be processed using our Relonch Pictured Technology and sent to your smartphone. In other words, one button replaces the entire usual Chain of Pain.

  • How do photos get to my smartphone?

The Relonch 291 has a built-in SIM card. All photos that you capture are sent to the Relonch server over LTE. There they are processed using our Relonch Pictured Technology and then sent automatically to the Relonch app on your smartphone.

  • Do I have to pay for data?

No. You only pay for photos that you like at a rate of $1 per photo.

  • Where does the service operate?

Relonch serves the USA, Canada, and Mexico.

  • What if I take my Relonch 291 abroad? Will I have to pay for roaming?

Relonch does not offer LTE data roaming. In other words, your photos can only reach the Relonch server over Wi-Fi from abroad. If you have a username and password for the Wi-Fi network at your hotel or other temporary residence, you can enter them in the Relonch app. Then your photos will automatically get sent to our server. If you can’t connect to a Wi-Fi network, you can take up to 4,000 photos, which will be stored on your device’s internal memory. They will then upload to the Relonch server as soon as you return to the country where your data plan works (USA, Canada, Mexico). They will be processed and sent to you within a few days in this case.

  • How many photos can I take if I’m not connected to the internet?

Up to 4,000 photos can be stored on your camera’s internal memory.

Relonch Camera 291

  • Can the Relonch 291 record video and audio?

No, we focus exclusively on producing Remarkable Photos.

  • Why do I need to connect my Relonch 291 to my home Wi-Fi?

If you live in an area with a weak LTE signal, then there is a good chance that it will take a long time for your photos to load to the Relonch server and your battery will drain faster. In this case, we recommend linking your Relonch device to your home Wi-Fi network.

  • How do I connect my Relonch 291 to a Wi-Fi network?

Just go to your profile in the app and tap Add Wi-Fi. Then enter the name and password of your home Wi-Fi network and tap Connect.

  • How much storage / media space is there on the camera?

The device’s internal memory holds 64-GB of photos (up to 4,000 images).

  • Does the Relonch 291 have a flash?

No, Relonch only works with natural lighting. A built-in flash makes a picture look somewhat artificial. Natural lighting, even when less than ideal, gives a photo life and, when processed using Relonch’s proprietary «pictured technology,» produces remarkable photos.

  • Does the Relonch 291 have a zoom lens?

No, there is only a prime lens. While having a zoom lens is handy, a good one is cumbersome, expensive and compromises overall photo quality. At Relonch, we picked the ideal lens for shooting under any conditions. The best way to get a close-up shot is to actually get close to your subject.

  • Why doesn’t the Relonch 219 have a screen?

By streamlining the camera case so that it only contains a viewfinder, you don’t have to waste your time sorting through a bunch of lackluster shots. Instead, you can just keep shooting and let Relonch’s algorithm work its magic and send you only the best shots. The viewfinder allows you to immerse yourself in the shot and focus on what really matters — capturing life’s remarkable moments.

How-to guide

  • How can I restart my Relonch 291?

Press and hold the Power button for 10 seconds. While holding the button, look in the viewfinder and wait for the image to disappear and the screen to go dark before you release the button (you will also hear a beep, which means that the camera has shut down and will restart shortly).

  • How can I check my Relonch 291’s battery level?

You can check your battery level in the Relonch app or see it in the viewfinder.

  • Two-second photo review

Immediately after you take a photo, you can view a preview shot in the viewfinder. Just keep looking in the viewfinder after you capture your shot and it will appear there for two seconds.

  • How can I adjust the viewfinder for my eyesight?

Twist the dioptre adjustment wheel until the image comes into focus.

  • How do I focus on someone who’s not in the center of the frame?
